Reminder: Comparison is the theif of joy

How many times have you looked at someone else and thought

I wish I looked like them

or

I wish I had what they had

Or

I wish (insert other thing they have that you want here)

Or maybe you have been working hard on something and doing really well only to look at someone who you deem to be doing better than you

And suddenly you feel like crap again.

You forget everything that you have been doing well

Sometimes you even feel like giving up and that you’ve been wasting your time.

Does this sound familiar?

It takes only seconds for you to go from really proud of youself to feeling like you’re nothing.

This is why they say comparison is the theif of joy.

So maybe it’s time to remove those things that cause you to compare yourself

Or even cut down on the amount time you spend in contact with those things

If people on social media make you feel bad: unfollow or mute if they are someone you are friends with

You can also block social media apps on your phone to stop yourself incesantly scrolling through the day and comparing yourself to others or you can even delete the apps altogether (gasp)

If it’s someone in real life you can spend less time with them

It sounds silly that you would spend so much time on things that make you unhappy

So give it a go and see the difference it can make!

What are somethings that you do to stop comparing yourself to others?
