Horse riding.. the only sport where your equipment can choose not to cooperate with you..

And my god to you know about it when they don’t.

Its mad to think that we just jump up on a half tonne animal and expect it to do what we say.

Even my own horse Sam. 99% of the time he will be the most chill character in the world, if he went any slower he would stop.

And then there is the other 1%..

When he likes to remind us that he is, in fact, an animal with thoughts and ideas of his own. This normally results in me walking after him like an idiot until he has decided that he is finished prancing around me.

When i tell my friends these stories. They are shocked and wonder was I scared but no I’m just annoyed with him for acting the eejit. they cant comprehend how casual I am about it all.

But its something that I’ve grown up around, and to me its normal.

How many times have you told a ‘normal’ horse story to your non equestrian freinds only to receive looks of shock and fear?

Its kinda fun seeing their faces though isnt it?
